  • For young children: What to Do When You Worry Too Much: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Anxiety by Dawn Huebner, Ph.D. Children can read this on their own or with a parent to learn more about what anxiety is and some basic strategies for coping.

  • For children up to age 12: The Worry Workbook for Kids by Muniya S. Khanna, Ph.D. and Deborah Roth Ledley, Ph.D. Children can go through this with a parent to start recognizing why they feel anxious and what they can do about it.

  • For teens: The Worry Workbook for Teens by Jamie Micco, Ph.D. Self-directed and motivated teenagers can go through this book on their own or with a therapist to gain confidence and practice healthy strategies for coping with anxious feelings.

SLEEP:

  • For children up to age 12: What to Do When You Dread Your Bed: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Problems with Sleep by Dawn Huebner, Ph.D. Parents should read it through first and then read a chapter at a time with their child.

TRAUMA:

  • The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, M.D. This is an easy-to-read and informative book on understanding how trauma affects the mind and body and stories of how others have addressed this.

It is a wearable technology that learns the wearer's sleep patterns and customizes a treatment for each individual, interrupting nightmares so sufferers can get a good night's sleep. NightWare is only available to individuals when recommended by a physician. Currently only available to veterans through the VA.
